Addis Ababa, August 19/2020(ENA)Heavy rainfall is predicted over the approaching days in most elements of western Ethiopia, southwestern Sudan and northwestern South Sudan that may lead to floods and wind storms, the Inter Governmental Authority for Growth (IGAD) warned.
Stakeholders are urged to take the suitable measures to forestall dangers because of the heavy rains, in response to IGAD’s Local weather Prediction and Purposes Centre (ICPAC) climate forecast alert issued on Tuesday.
Particularly, western Ethiopia, areas alongside the Shebelle River in Ethiopia and Somalia, and japanese elements of South Sudan alongside the River Baro/Sobat are extra susceptible areas of flood, it mentioned.
Communities dwelling in recognized flood danger areas should be alerted, it added.
